It is one of the most prestigious film festivals in Asia
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has announced its 5 member International jury board for 2021. Bangladeshi director Rubaiyat Hossain will serve as one of the jurors in the 51st edition of this highly prestigious festival, which will take place from January 16-24.
Joining Rubaiyat in the jury board are Prasanna Vithanage (Sri Lanka), Priyadarshan (India), Abu Bakr Shawky (Austria), and Pablo Cesar (Argentina). Cesar, who contributed to African cinema by making critically acclaimed films like Equinox, The Garden of Roses, and so on, will serve as the jury chair.

Rubaiyat's latest film, Made in Bangladesh, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and ran successfully in theatres in Europe and USA. Her previous works include Under Construction (2015) and Meherjaan (2011).
IFFI in 2020 was postponed to January this year due to the pandemic and is being held in a hybrid format. Founded in 1952, the festival also hosts India's biggest film market, Goa Film Bazaar.
The opening film this year is Thomas Vinterberg's Another Round starring Mads Mikkelsen.
