The 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India, being held in Goa from January 16 to January 24, is highlighting the illustrious career of veteran director Tanvir Mokammel, who along with four other prominent directors are set to speak at the event.
Moreover, Bangladesh has been selected as this year's "Country in Focus" - a feat achieved for the first time. Four films from Bangladesh, including Mokammel's Jibondhuli, would be screened as part of the segment.
The director noted that Bangladesh being chosen as the country in focus is a ‘great tribute to the 50th anniversary of the liberation’ of the country.

Made in Bangladesh director Rubaiyat Hossain is also serving as one of the jurors of the five-member International jury board for 2021.
On the second day of the festival, director Tanvir Mokammel along with the cast and crew of Jibondhuli attended the festival's red carpet event.
IFFI in 2020 was postponed to January this year due to the pandemic and is being held in a hybrid format. Founded in 1952, the festival also hosts India's biggest film market, Goa Film Bazaar.
