In the past, fans have stood by Gina as they perceived the petition to remove her as another example of cancel culture, but this time, it seems the actor has gone too far
Former MMA star and actor Gina Carano has been drawing heavy criticism from fans for quite some time because of her controversial opinions, which in the past included encouraging followers to flout Covid-19 social distancing rules and speculating about voter fraud in the US general election.
She has previously received flak for her alleged transphobia, with fans accusing her of deliberately mocking trans pronouns.
The #FireGinaCarano hashtag made the rounds onf the internet while #StandWithGinaCarano was seen slowly picking up steam.
In the past, fans have stood by Gina despite an obvious ideological difference as they perceived the petition to remove her as another example of cancel culture destroying careers through social media trials.
But it appears, the star has crossed a line as she was fired by Lucasfilms for anti-Semitic remarks, reported IndieWire today.
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” a Lucasfilm spokesperson told IndieWire.
What ultimately led to her removal was an Instagram post, regarding the divisive politics in the United States. “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
Netizens took an issue with her comparison of Holocaust survivors to Republicans.
In a following post, she wrote, “Expecting everyone you encounter to agree with every belief or view you hold is fucking wild.”
After the news of her removal from Lucasfilms broke, there was however some push back on Twitter.
You don’t have to agree with her reposting a comparison of persecuted Jews and modern day conservatives. But to call her anti-Semitic and that she should be fired? And quote only select Twitter users as proof that “people” have had enough? https://t.co/ShRA0nLiKz

when cancel culture cultists harassed her nonstop over her lack of twitter bio pronouns; this emboldened the cult so they began losing their minds over literally any and everything she posted anywhere. https://t.co/HqcdqEE1nX
According to Deadline, the actor has also parted from her talent agency.
In the past, the former MMA star made headlines when she announced her decision to move to the new Parler app – home of the Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes, Fox host Sean Hannity, Senator Ted Cruz and members of the Trump family.
She has also been slammed by fans for her ‘disparaging’ tweets regarding the recent Black Lives Movement.
