Singer/songwriter Rashed Uddin Ahmed Topu has released a song after two and a half years. The song, titled, Prithibi Ghumak, was released on February 10 on YouTube. Topu directed and edited the video himself where he's joined by the composer and performer of the song, Rafa (AvoidRafa), who produced, mixed and mastered the song.
Topu shared his inspiration behind the music video with Dhaka Tribune Showtime.
"Mother Earth has given us everything to live, but in return, we are polluting her," he said. "During this pandemic, we have seen clearer sky, fresh air and crystal clear water as we have stopped polluting for a very brief period of time. I think mother nature has given us a signal that she needs rest. This is high time that we stop polluting nature or we would destroy the earth in near future."
The video features still photography by award winning photographer Pinu Rahman. Animation artist Timir Deb Nath added animation on the images.
The singer shot to fame in 2004 with the release of Ek Paye Nupur. His first solo album, Bondhu Bhabo Ki, was released in 2008. He is currently working on several new songs.
