For those who don't know, Berlinale 2021 is currently taking place online for the cinéastes and will be followed by a public programme in June 2021
World Cinema Fund Day will be observed on March 5, at 7pm. The ceremony will be streamed live and available for all on the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of Berlinale.
And if you are interested to learn more about the WCF and its funded films, you can also follow Goethe Institut’s and WCF’s film streaming and Q/A series, “Berlinale Spotlight World Cinema Fund 2021”, curated by Sara Afreen and moderated by Kamar Ahmad Simon.
The last two Q/As included filmmakers Tamer El Said and here Julia Murat.
There is also a podcast, featuring long episodes as a year-round series, with short episodes to be aired exclusively during the five-day virtual event of the European Film Market (EFM) 2021. "Industry Insight - The EFM podcast" is available on all major podcast platforms.
As the first international film market of the year, the European Film Market is where the film industry starts its business of the year. Industry Insights - The EFM Podcast puts a spotlight on highly topical and trendsetting industry issues, thereby creating a compass for the forthcoming film year.
On the other hand, Berlinale Talents Podcast is a monthly podcast starting from March 5. First episode will feature Brazilian film director, script writer and festival director Kleber Mendonça Filho and the director of the Berlinale World Cinema Funds, Vincenzo Bugno.
No red carpet at this year's Berlinale – but twelve film journalists from nine countries are looking forward to an online film selection. Berlinale Bliggers 2021 will present their cinematic discoveries and their reflections on the film festival in the Corona year.
More details are available on the official website of the 71st Berlin International Film Festival.
