Weisz and Farrell were last seen together in acclaimed surreal dystopian film 'The Lobster'
Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz, who starred in Yorgos Lanthimos’ acclaimed drama “The Lobster” are reuniting for director Todd Solondz’s new film “Love Child.”
Todd Solondz is best known for writing and directing “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” “Wiener-Dog,” and “Happiness”.
Produced by Christine Vachon, “Love Child” is being marketed as “a dark and hilarious twist on the classical Oedipal story.”
“‘Love Child’ follows a precocious kid who schemes to rid himself of his brutish dad so he can have his mom all to himself. Things go awry when a handsome stranger appears,” reads the official synopsis.
Director Todd Solondz said, “I’ve loved Rachel and Colin’s work forever, and am so honored to be able to excite their passion for serious and unexpected work as well."
Weisz and Farrell were last seen together in surreal dystopian film “The Lobster” where they played two single people in a quest to find love within 45 days.
“The Lobster” won the Jury Prize at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Both Weisz and Farrell have a busy schedule ahead. Weisz and Farrell are set to appear on “Black Widow” and “The Batman,” respectively.
