The film will compete for the Palme d'Or next month
French filmmaker Julia Ducournau, who is best known for directing acclaimed horror drama “Raw” is back with a chilling thriller, which is set to compete for the Palme d'Or next month.
Starring Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon, Ducournau’s new film ‘Titane’ is shrouded in mystery as the producing studio Neon has not yet revealed the official synopsis.
However, the definition of the film’s title reads, “A metal highly resistant to heat and corrosion, with high tensile strength alloys, often used in medical prostheses due to its pronounced biocompatibility.”
“Raw” premiered in 2016 at Critics’ Week during the Cannes Film Festival and won the much-coveted FIPRESCI Prize.
Alonside Ducournau, three other female directors have been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or next month, including Ildikó Enyedi, Mia Hansen-Løve and Catherine Corsini.
