The opening ceremony and screening of the film "Annette" in competition were held on July 6, 2021, marking the return of the world’s biggest film festival
The festival will take place for the next twelve days, with fewer attendees and film premieres than the previous editions.
“Stars were out in force on the French Riviera for the opening ceremony, in a show of support for an industry hammered by the pandemic after theatres closed for months,” reported Reuters.
The 2020 Cannes festival was postponed due to ongoing pandemic, giving this year’s edition a special air of importance.
Bangladeshi film "Rehana Maryam Noor" will be screened on July 7. There will be three screenings in total of the film at this festival. An eight-member team representing RMN will attend the screening.
