'People who celebrated my imprisonment, I don’t need their love. And people who are now changing their tone, I don’t need them either'
Popular Dhallywood actor Pori Moni was released on Wednesday from the Women’s Central Jail in Kashimpur, Gazipur, after 26 days of imprisonment.
The actor’s fans had crowded the jail gate to catch a glimpse of her walking out of prison after nearly a month. She left in a white SUV, waving at the fans through the sunroof. “Don’t love me, bitch” was written on her palm, which sparked debates online throughout the day.
The actor told the press that she wanted to sum up her feelings in one short message. “There are so many bitches that I can’t confront them one by one,” she explained to a few outlets.
“When I was arrested, you saw a certain kind of activism from certain people. When I got the bail, those very people did a complete 180.”
“People who celebrated my imprisonment, I don’t need their love. And people who are now changing their tone, I don’t need them either. Those are the people I wanted to send a message to. As for those who genuinely wished well for me, I will always love them back.”
