Swimming team to take part in World Championship

A four-member Bangladesh swimming team flew for China Friday night to take part in the 14th FINA World Swimming Championship 2018 December 11-16 in Hangzhou’s Zhejiang province.

Mohammad Mahfizur Rahman Sagor will compete in the 50m and 100m freestyle event; Mohammad Mahmudun Nobi Nahid will take part in the 50m and 100m butterfly; Sonia Aktar Tumpa will compete in the 50m and 100m butterfly event, while Naima Akter will participate in the 50m and 100m backstroke events.

The Bangladesh team had a month long preparation, starting November 1 this year.

Sagor said gaining experience will be the main focus and recording their best timing will be considered an achievement.
