Newcomer Bashundhara Kings continued their winning run in the Bangladesh Premier League as they beat another newbie Nofel Sporting Club 2-0 at their home ground, Sheikh Kamal Stadium, Nilphamari Wednesday.

Kings, the cash-rich club, who clinched the Independence Cup in their debut season, beat defending champion Abahani Limited and Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanamondi Club Limited in their first two matches and consolidated their top position in the points table with yesterday’s victory.

Kings’ two local strikers Motin Mia and Emon Mahmud Babu scored one goal apiece in the either side of each half in front of an exuberant crowd.

Motin got off the mark in the 23rd minute when he laid a successful diagonal pass for his Kyrgyz team-mate Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov to slot the ball home.

Costa Rica’s World Cupper Daniel Colindres could have doubled the lead six minutes later had his free kick not rebounded off the post.

Kings raised the intensity of the game and got another goal in the 84th minute when Emon unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box to ensure the Nofel’s second defeat in as many games.
