A total of 16 archers from Bangladesh will take part in the competition’s third edition
The ISSF International Solidarity World Ranking Archery Championship begins Saturday with the participation of 26 countries, nine more than the previous edition.
The details of the tournament were announced in a press conference Wednesday where it was revealed that all the matches will take place in Tongi’s Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium.
A total of 16 archers from Bangladesh will take part in the competition’s third edition.
In the first edition, Bangladesh bagged six gold, one silver and two bronze medals while in the 17-nation second edition last year, the men and women in red and green notched five golds, five silvers and a solitary bronze.
Bangladesh Archery Federation general secretary Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal said, “In the back of our minds, we know we have to claim several golds, but what we really have to do is continue our recent development. After long-term training, we want to see where they stand, what their current standard is, in this tournament.”
