Shakib to play in Canadian League

Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan will play in the upcoming Canadian Global T20 League, according to the official website of the tournament.

The world’s No 1 all-rounder is expected to play for the Brampton Wolves.

In Brampton Wolves, Shakib will play alongside former West Indies captain Darren Sammy, ex-Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi and New Zealand opener Colin Munro, the tournament website said.

Shakib has played in franchise leagues all around the world including the Bangladesh Premier League, Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, Pakistan Super League and Big Bash League.

This will be the first time he will ever play the CGT20.

The league is scheduled to begin from July 25 this year.

A total of 22 matches will be played in the tournament with the final scheduled to be held on August 11.
