The BCB has extended the contracts of chief selector Minhazul Abedin and selector Habibul Bashar until the 2020 World T20I in Australia.

Both Minhajul and Bashar’s term as selector ended after the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales but the BCB hierarchy has keep faith with them until the next ICC flagship event.

BCB chief Nazmul Hasan informed the decision of their contract extension and expressed their work in the last few years as satisfactory.

“The ongoing two selectors’ contracts have been extended until the 2020 World T20I. There is no complaints in this regard and they have performed well over the years and thus we want them to stay. There is still one post available in the selection panel and we will choose someone soon after discussions and announce it later,” informed BCB boss Nazmul Saturday at a press conference in Mirpur.

Minhajul has been in the selection panel since 2011 but was appointed the chief selector in 2016, while Bashar was previously with the women’s selection team but later took the post for the men’s team in 2016.
