Bangladesh U-19 cricket team showed another strong all-round display as they beat host England by seven wickets in their tri-nation U-19 tournament in Cheltenham Sunday.
After winning the toss, the young Tigers did a creditable job of restricting their opponent to 242/9 in 50 overs before their batsmen sailed home by making 245/3 in 48.3 overs.
Left-arm seamer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed four wickets conceding 52 runs.
Opening bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib also picked up two wickets.
English opener Ben Charlesworth made a patient 68-run knock and got good support from Jack Haynes and Lewis Goldsworthy, who scored 35 and 36 respectively batting at Nos 3 and 4, as the host reached a vantage position of 151/2 in the 33rd over.
But the young Tigers picked up wickets in regular intervals to resist the opponent from getting a big total.
