Bangladesh lose two in two in group stage

Bangladesh, the champion of the 2016 edition and runners-up last year, will conclude the Group A campaign against reigning champion Turkmenistan Wednesday

Bangladesh’s fortunes refused to improve in the Asian Senior Men’s Central Zone Volleyball Championship 2019 as they suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Afghanistan in their second match at Army Sports and Physical Training Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal Tuesday.

Bangladesh, who lost to Uzbekistan 3-0 in their opening game Monday, conceded a 21-25 loss in the first set before staging a comeback to win the next two sets 25-19 and 25-18. 

Harsit Biswas and Co lost the last two sets 23-25 and 12-15.

Bangladesh, the champion of the 2016 edition and runners-up last year, will conclude the Group A campaign against reigning champion Turkmenistan Wednesday.

The team earlier held a 21-day training camp in Iran playing eight practice matches before flying to Nepal.
