Japan continued its support to provide grants to the Bangladesh Gymnastic Federation as the Japan Gymnastics Federation handed over one set of ring bar and parallel bar to the BGF during a ceremony at the National Sports Council gymnasium in Paltan Wednesday.
Hiroyuki Yamaya, Charge d’ Affaires, Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh handed over the equipment to Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, president of BGF during the “Gymnastics Apparatus Handover Ceremony”.
The Japan government also covered the taxes of the apparatus, which are priced at Tk12 lakhs.
Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and NSC secretary Masud Karim were also present on the occasion where some young national gymnasts performed on the new apparatus in front of the guests.
The 17-year-old gymnast Khumi Kitong of Quantum Cosmo School was one of the performers.
Khumi said the new apparatus would help them get better outputs in training.
