Ton-up Saif shines in NCL

Youngster Saif Hasan wasted little time making an impact after his return home from Bangladesh A team’s tour of Sri Lanka as he struck a century for Dhaka against Rangpur during day one of the second round of the National Cricket League’s 21st edition at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong Thursday.

Saif, who played a starring role with the bat in the second string Bangladesh side’s series win against the Lankans in the youth ODIs, made 120 as Dhaka, batting first in the tier one game, posted a handsome 314 runs losing four wickets in 90 overs.

Saif faced 173 balls and struck 13 fours and three sixes, and was ably supported by opener Rony Talukdar (65) and Raqibul Hasan (57).

Left-arm spinner Sohrawardi Shuvo bagged two wickets for Rangpur.
