Chittagong on the ascendancy after day two

Chittagong began the day on 261/4 in 90 overs, and lost their remaining six wickets for the addition of 95 runs in 44.3 overs

Chittagong are ahead of Barisal by 252 runs after the latter ended day two on 104/4 in 43 overs in their tier two National Cricket League second-round match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Friday.

Barisal opener Rafsan al Mahmud scored the highest 49 for his side while Chittagong off-spinner Nayeem Hasan notched two wickets.

Chittagong earlier began the day on 261/4 in 90 overs, and lost their remaining six wickets for the addition of 95 runs in 44.3 overs.

Stumper-batsman Mahidul Islam Ankon missed out on a well-deserved ton by nine runs while middle-order batsman Yasir Ali (70), opener Irfan Sukkur (57) and Masum Khan (50*) provided valuable support.

Barisal’s Monir Hossain took four wickets while off-spinner Mosaddek Hossain picked up a couple.
