After conceding a 3-1 defeat against another I-League outfit, Sree Gokulam Kerala FC, in their opening game, Bashundhara Kings’ Spanish tactician Oscar Bruzon hinted of making a number of changes in the starting XI for the crucial battle
Bashundhara Kings head coach Oscar Bruzon and forward Matin Mia are confident of overcoming their bad start in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup as they look forward to winning their second Group B match against reigning I-League champion Chennai City FC at MA Aziz Stadium in the port city Thursday.
After conceding a 3-1 defeat against another I-League outfit, Sree Gokulam Kerala FC, in their opening game, the Kings’ Spanish tactician Bruzon hinted of making a number of changes in the starting XI for the crucial battle.
“We wanted to understand the new players in the first game. The team needed some time to adjust. I was not happy with the performance in defending, attacking and build-ups, so there is going to be lot of changes. I’m happy that we saw some problem,” Bruzon told the reporters after Wednesday's training session.
Gokulam proved in their first match of the Sheikh Kamal Club Cup why they are considered one of the favorites to win the I-League title next season as they beat Bangladesh Premier League winner Bashundhara Kings 3-1 at MA Aziz Stadium in the port cityhttps://t.co/3wooBEsqJE#BFF

Center-backs Yeasin Khan or Bishwanath Ghosh is likely to be dropped from the playing XI with Nurul Naim Faisal slated to return while Matin, who scored the only goal against Gokulam after coming on as a substitute, is also likely to start ahead of Rabiul Hasan.
“We only trained for three days together before the tournament so there was lack of understandings between the players. Hopefully we will come back stronger, win the next two matches in the group and reach the knockout stages,” said Matin, who scored 11 goals to become the club’s highest scoring local player in their successful premier league campaign last season.
Meanwhile, Chennai City are also likely to bring some changes in their starting XI after conceding a 5-3 defeat against Terengganu FC in the first game.
