For the third consecutive match in the series, Bangladesh batters fell short in reaching the target set by Pakistan, ending the final game on 89/8 in their allotted 20 overs while chasing 118
The visiting Bangladesh women’s cricket team tasted the feeling of being whitewashed as they lost the third and final T20I against their Pakistani counterparts by 28 runs at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore Wednesday.
For the third consecutive match in the series, Bangladesh batters fell short in reaching the target set by Pakistan, ending the final game on 89/8 in their allotted 20 overs while chasing 118.
Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof and player of the match from the first two games opted to bat first for the third time in the series.
While the captain failed to continue her dream run of form, Javeria Khan scored 54 off 48 balls aided by Umaima Sohail’s 29-ball 31 to help post 117/7 after their stipulated 20 overs.
Bangladesh seamer Jahanara Alam however, stood out yet again among the visiting side’s bowlers after picking up three wickets giving away only 12 runs.

During their chase, Bangladesh were already struggling with a slow run-rate that was much less than what was required, before being reduced to 12/4 in seven overs to put their chase in shambles.
Nigar Sultana and Fargana Hoque did put up a fight scoring 30 off 44 balls and 27 off 26, respectively.
However, their partnership never really seemed to threaten the host.
Anam Amin was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, taking two wickets in exchange for 10 runs from her quote of four overs.
Bangladesh will now play a two-match ODI series against Pakistan, to be held at the same venue Saturday and Monday respectively.
