The country’s football governing body called an emergency executive committee meeting at BFF House in Dhaka Thursday regarding their preparation of the AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Football Federation will be held Saturday for the first time since the current committee led by BFF president Kazi Salahuddin was elected for the third time in 2016.
The country’s football governing body called an emergency executive committee meeting at BFF House in Dhaka Thursday regarding their preparation of the AGM.
“Accommodation for the councilors has been arranged for (Friday). A friendly football match will be held with the participation of the councilors in the afternoon. The main activities of Congress will start at 11am [Saturday],” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag Thursday.
The audit reports of the last three years will be placed in the AGM for approval while the BFF is planning to propose to include councillorships from 12 clubs of Second and Third Division clubs.
Newly formed Bangladesh Football Club Association and Bangladesh District and Divisional Football Association, known as rivals of Salahuddin, are however, ready to raise questions on some issues.
“We found many financial irregularities in the rough audit reports of BFF after examining them by the hands of more than one auditor. We will raise this issue in the AGM,” said BFCA president and BDDFA general secretary Tarafder Ruhul Amin Thursday.
The new committee of BFCA was formed at a city hotel Thursday where Police FC manager and Additional IGP Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan was named the new general secretary while BFF vice-presidents Badal Roy and Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi were named senior vice-presidents.
