In the fourth round, GM Ziaur Rahman beat Egyptian GM Hesam Abdulrahman
Bangladesh Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman jointly led the points table with maximum four points following the conclusion of the fourth round of the Open GM Chess Tournament in Delhi Saturday.
International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman and Gias Uddin Ahmed have two points each while Ziaur’s son, Tahsin Tazwar Zia, and Mohammad Jisan Rahman Malek have 1.5 and one point respectively.
In the fourth round, Ziaur beat Egyptian GM Hesam Abdulrahman but his son Tahsin lost to India’s Neheta Arnab.

Fahad, Gias and Malek also suffered the same fate as Tahsin as they lost to India’s Prithvi Singh, India’s Adi Amiyar and India’s Akkhata Sinha respectively.
Earlier in the third round a day earlier, Ziaur beat Ukranian GM Bogdanovich Stanislav, Fahad defeated Sri Lanka’s Thiksana Denuvan and Gias beat India’s Bharsit Nila.
Tahsin though drew with Venkhere Abishkar.
