Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal is likely to travel aboard for treatment of severe stomach ache. Left-handed opener Tamim has been amongst the many cricketers to not put name for individual practice sessions arranged by Bangladesh Cricket Board [BCB].

Tamim is being troubled by the sickness for a longtime now and despite several checkups, pathological tests and CT scan in Dhaka, the reason of the stomach ache has remained unknown.

“I had the attack [sever stomach ache] thrice in last one month. The pain is so severe that I cannot even stand straight. Doctors have asked me to get admitted to the hospital but that’s also not being possible due to the Covid-19 situation. They [doctors] have suggested me a few more tests like endoscopy and colonoscopy,” said Tamim to the media.

Tamim had initially planned to travel to London for treatment. However, he thinks the Covid-19 protocols set in England will make it hectic for him and thus considering to travel to Thailand.

“I spoke to the doctors in London but they have a 14-day isolation rule if you are traveling to that country and other protocols to follow. But still I am considering England if not then Thailand, but it has to be done soon,” Tamim informed.
