Chattogram’s decision to send Dhaka in proved to be a masterstroke by captain of the port city outfit Mithun, as the capital city were all out for just 88 runs in 16.2 overs

It was contrasting fortunes in the evening game of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup Thursday at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium as Beximco Dhaka suffered their second successive loss, against Gazi Group Chattogram, who opened their campaign with a resounding nine-wicket victory.

Only Mohammad Naim (40), Akbar Ali (15) and Muktar Ali (12) reached double digit in the face of some controlled bowling by the Chattogram bowlers.

Player of the match Mosaddek Hossain, Shariful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Taijul Islam all bagged two wickets apiece as Dhaka suffered the ignominy of being bundled out for the lowest total in the tournament so far.

In reply, Chattogram barely broke sweat as openers Liton Das (34) and Soumya Sarkar (44 not out) put on 79.

Nasum Ahmed picked up the only wicket to fall of Chattogram.
