Ansar led the first half 16-13 as Khadija inspired her side to victory with six goals
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party claimed the first ever edition of the Women’s Federation Cup Handball after winning an intense final 31-23 against Police Handball Team at Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Dhaka Saturday.
Ansar led the first half 16-13 as Khadija inspired her side to victory with six goals.
Despite ending as the losing side, Police’s Khaleda scored the highest seven goals in the final, while the runners-up side’s Rubina was named the player of the year.
The tournament was organized to mark the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Alongside the finalists, Jamalpur Sports Academy, Tetulia Upazila Sports Organization, Naogaon District Sports Association, Jessore DSA, Faridpur DSA and Handball Training Center took part in the tournament.
