Bangladesh Ansar cyclists made the Victory Day Cycling Competition their very own by dominating the podium with four gold medals, one silver and three bronzes at Bangabandhu National Stadium athletic track in Dhaka Saturday.
Ansar’s Rifat Hossain brought two golds for his side – in the juniors’ 6,000m race and the 4,000m mountain bike race.
Ansar’s Anwar Hossain, Abdullah, Mohammad Yasin and Rashidul bagged gold in the 4,000m team pursuit.
Ansar also won gold in the women’s 2,000m team pursuit through the efforts of Rumi Akhter, Shahida, Tithi Biswas and Lima Akter.
A total of 207 cyclists will take part in Saturday’s Mujib Barsho Victory Day Cycling Competition 2020 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Jail salvaged something from the competition when their Faisal Hossain and Abdullah al Parvez won the 10,000m scratch race and 6,000m mountain bike race respectively.
Army also claimed two more golds in the women’s senior 4,000m scratch race (Suborna Borma) and 2,000m race (Shukla Biswas), while Chittagong District Sports Association’s Nisha Anjum bagged gold in the 2,000m mountain bike race.
