Youth dominated preliminary hockey squad named

Bangladesh coach Mahbub placed emphasis on youth ahead of the national camp that will begin next Sunday at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium

As many as 18 players from the Bangladesh U-21 hockey team were called up to the senior side as the 32-man Bangladesh preliminary squad was announced for the 2021 Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held from March 11-19 in Dhaka.

Bangladesh coach Mahbub Harun placed emphasis on youth ahead of the national camp that will begin next Sunday at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.

A day later, the players will undergo Covid-19 tests and those whose results are negative will go into residential training.

Bangladesh will take on Malaysia on the opening day of the six-team tournament.
