Sheikh Jamal edge Ctg Abahani

Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited began their Bangladesh Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Chittagong Abahani Limited Monday evening at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.

Sheikh Jamal went ahead in the 40th minute when Validjanov Otabek scored from a free kick via a deflection from Nixon Guilherme.

The 2014-15 league winners doubled the lead right after resumption as Nurul Absar headed home from a Monir Hossain cross. 

Guilherme reduced the arrears for the port city outfit in the 82nd minute from the penalty spot after Monir handled inside the box.
