Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra maintained their winning start to the Bangladesh Premier League as they edged Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 1-0 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Wednesday.

Mohammad Abdullah, who also netted in the 2-1 win over Brothers Union in their BPL opener, scored the all-important goal in the 74th minute to continue the Blues’ perfect start to the league.

Abdullah connected a sweet side volley from a Baktyiar Duishobekov corner to give Saiful Bari Titu’s charges, former treble winners and champions of the 2012-13 league season, six points from two matches.

Rahmatganj in contrast tasted their first defeat after drawing 1-1 with Federation Cup finalist Saif Sporting Club in the opening game.
