Mominul became the first Bangladeshi to reach the double figure of centuries in Test cricket
Bangladesh set the target of 395 runs to win for West Indies in their first Test of the two-match series at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowhury Stadium on Saturday.
Captain Mominul Haque, who made highest 115 runs for the side, declared their second innings on 223-8, leaving the visitors to negotiate around 40 overs on the penultimate evening.
By scoring the century Mominul became the first Bangladeshi to reach the double figure of centuries in Test cricket. He also reached 3000-run mark in Tests as fifth Bangladeshi. Mominul reached the 100-run mark in 173 balls.
Liton Das gave him great support with 69 runs forming a 133-run fifth wicket stand after the home side lost Mushfiqur Rahim on 18 in first session on day-four.
