Several England cricketers and many others on social media labelled as "disgusting" and "distasteful" comments made by controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen on her twitter account, where she opined that England all-rounder Moeen Ali would probably have joined ISIS in Syria were it not for cricket.

Social media users and English cricketers Jofra Archer, Sam Billings, Ben Duckett and Saqib Mahmood came down hard on Taslima, whose tweet was later removed.

Taslima claimed that she had tweeted it as a means of "sarcasm".
