Abahani’s supremacy continues

Abahani Limited continued their winning run in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 match as they beat Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited by 49 runs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Monday.

In the other matches, Gazi Group Cricketers defeated Partex Sporting Club, while the game between Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Brothers Union ended in no result due to inclement weather. 

Abahani v Sheikh Jamal

Abahani posted a strong total in consecutive matches at SBNCS as they accumulated 181 runs losing just four wickets batting first.

In-form Munim Shahriar scored 74 off just 40 balls with nine fours and three sixes.

No 3 batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto made 65 off 42 deliveries with six boundaries and two over boundaries.

Sheikh Jamal got a revised target of 148 from 13 overs but could manage only 98 for the loss of eight wickets.

Mehedi Hasan Rana picked up three wickets for Abahani.

Gazi Group v Partex

Partex managed to register only 109 losing seven wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Hasanuzzaman was the top-scorer with 26.

After rain interruption, Gazi got a revised target of 47 and they reached it for the loss of just one wicket in 5.3 overs.

Mahedi Hossain scored 33 off just 13 balls for Gazi Group and was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Mohammedan v Brothers

Batting first, Mohammedan posted 143 for the loss of nine wickets from 20 overs at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan.

Opener Abdul Mazid was the highest scorer with 35.

Alauddin Babu and Rahatul Ferdaus bagged two wickets apiece for Brothers.

But the match could not be restarted after innings break due to wet outfield resulted from heavy downpour.
