In the evening game in Mirpur, Shinepukur stunned Gazi Group by eight runs
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club secured a thumping victory over Abahani Limited to lift themselves upto second position in the points table, while Prime Bank Cricket Club defeated Brothers Union to secure top spot in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League Twenty20 in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Wednesday.

Abahani v Doleshwar
Doleshwar won the toss and elected to bat against Abahani in the second match of the day.
Doleshwar opening batsmen Imran Uzzaman and Saif Hasan made a decent start as these two put on 30 runs on the board before Imran got out scoring 23 in 3.5 overs.
Other opener Saif carried his innings and scored 58 off 49 balls, hitting one boundary but as many as six sixes in his innings.
Apart from these two, only Marshal Ayub (20) scored in double figure, while other batsmen failed to score notable runs.
Eventually they managed to score 132 losing nine wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
Seamer Mehedi Hasan Rana picked up three wickets conceding 28 runs for Abahani.
In reply, Abahani openers made a slow start and lost in-form opener Munim Shahriar (eight) in the fourth over of the innings when the score was only 16.
Later, Abahani lost regular wickets in the middle overs of the innings, which made their chase tougher.
Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim got out at a crucial period of the innings, in the 10th over, while trying to play a reverse sweep, only to get caught at point after scoring four.
Afif Hossain tried to accelerate the run rate for Abahani as he scored 26 with three fours and one six, but that effort was not enough.
Doleshwar pacer Kamrul Islam Rabbi bowled brilliantly in the middle overs of the innings and bagged four wickets giving away just 11 runs in his 2.5 overs.
Abahani were all out for 104 and lost by 28 runs in the end.
Rabbi was later adjudged man-of-the-match.
Prime Bank v Brothers
In the rain-interrupted first match of the day, Brothers scored 74 for the loss of three wickets in 12 overs.
Junaid Siddique scored 24, while Alauddin Babu made 14 off just five balls.
In reply, Prime Bank scored 84 for four and won the match by six wickets with two balls to spare in accordance with the Duckworth/Lewis method.
Tamim Iqbal scored 29, while Mohammad Mithun was unbeaten on 28.
Alauddin notched three wickets for Brothers, and was adjudged man-of-the-match.
Shinepukur v Gazi Group
In the evening match of the day Shinepukur stunned Gazi Group as the former emerged victorious by eight runs.
Batting first Shinepukur only scored 104 losing all of their wickets.
Opener Sabbir Hossain played a superb innings at the top, scoring 41 off just 26 balls with four fours and three sixes.
But other batsmen failed to score big and Shinepukur only scored 104 in the end.
But this small target seemed to be too much for Gazi Group as they collapsed scoring just 99 in 19.3 overs.
Mohor Sheikh was the star performer with the ball for Shinepukur as the pacer picked up four wickets conceding just 22 runs in 3.3 overs and was elected as man-of-the-match.
