Lionel Messi once again showed the reason why he is considered the one of the bests in the world football as he battled pain during Argentina’s Copa America semi-final versus Colombia on Tuesday. After a Frank Fabra tackle, Messi was on the ground in pain. He also injured his ankle which started bleeding, but that did not stop him from continuing on.

Colombia conceded six yellow cards during the match. They attacked Messi multiple times. However, it was Frank Fabra's 55th-minute tackle that got the Argentine skipper on the ground and in pain.

The 34-year-old injured his ankle which started bleeding. But he didn't leave the field. Messi finished the game with a match-high nine successful dribbles, five key passes, two big chances created, one assist and one penalty converted.

With the heroic effort from Messi and Emiliano Martinez's brilliant saves in the penalty shoot-out, Argentina has landed into the Copa America final, where they face Neymar Jr's Brazil on Sunday, July 11.

Brazil, on Monday, defeated Peru 1-0 in the first semi-final to reach the finale of the tournament. A Neymar-less Brazil had knocked out Argentina two years ago in the semi-finals of the same tournament. Brazil were crowned champions that year.
