Ruman won the first round against Hall by 7-3 set points before losing his second round match
Bangladeshi archer Mohammad Ruman Shana's Tokyo 2020 Olympics journey came to an end in the second round of the recurve men's event where he lost to Duenas Crispin of Canada by 6-4 set points on Tuesday.
It was a tight contest between Ruman and Crispin where Ruman took the first set by 26-25 points.
But Ruman lost the next set by 25-28 margin and later lost the third set by 27-29 points.
However, Ruman held his nerve in the fourth set and won it by a slight margin of 26-25 points.
But the fifth set did not go according to Ruman's plan as Casprin won by 26-25 points and eventually, the contest.
"I'm really a little bit upset because...10 to win. I had a very good chance to win this match," lamented Ruman after his Olympics campaign came to an end.
Ruman however, refused to be downbeat and boldly targeted a gold medal finish in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
"My target is 2028 Olympic gold, so I'm also going to play for the 2024 Olympics. I shall do my best," he added.
Meanwhile, the 26-year old archer won the first round against Tom Hall of Britain by 7-3 set points before losing his second round match.
Bangladesh's other archer, Diya Siddique, will play her individual round matches Thursday.
Earlier, Ruman and Diya were eliminated from the pre-quarterfinal stage of the competition in the recurve mixed team event.
