Bangladeshi archer Diya Siddiqui bowed out in the first round of the women's recurve singles at the Tokyo Olympics after her 5-6 set point defeat to Belarus' Karyna Dziominskaya Thursday.

Diya, ranked 155th in the world archery ranking, put up a valiant fight against 31st ranked Karyna, before the Belarusian prevailed 10-9 in the shoot off after the regulation five sets ended in a draw.

Diya won the first set 23-22 before losing the second 26-25, while the third ended in a 25-25 draw.

After losing the fourth set 27-25, Diya staged a comeback to win the fifth 27-25.

Just like compatriot Mohammad Ruman Shana who failed to overcome the second round hurdle by a solitary point, Diya too came up short by just one point in the shoot off to concede defeat in the first round.

Ruman and Diya earlier exited the mixed team event in the first round.
