Bangladesh's first triathlete, Arafat finished 153rd among 288 participants in his age category
Mohammad Shamsuzzaman Arafat became Bangladesh's first ever participant in the prestigious Ironman World Championship, which took place in St. George, Utah, USA Saturday.
Bangladesh's first triathlete, Arafat finished 153rd among 288 participants in his age category after taking five hours and 15 minutes to complete his mission - swimming 1.9km first, then 90km cycling and finally complete a half marathon of 21.1km.
Arafat previously swam across the Bangla Channel seven times and took part in various marathons at home and abroad.
