It was learnt that it would take at least four weeks for Tamim's new left thumb injury to heal
Bangladesh opener and ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has returned home from Nepal Thursday morning after getting injured while playing in the Everest Premier League.
Tamim was featuring for Bhairahawa Gladiators in Nepal's Everest T20 Premier League and suffered an injury on his left thumb Wednesday while playing a match.
Tamim has played five games in the Everest T20 Premier League this season so far and scored 75 runs with a top score of 40.
He was recovering from injury prior to the T20 World Cup and eventually made himself unavailable for the World Cup squad.
Playing in the Everest T20 Premier League was part of his recovery towards full fitness but a fresh injury now will delay the process.
It was learnt that it would take at least four weeks for the injury to heal.
