Two-month programme to mark Special Olympics' 50th anniversary
''The Special Olympics is a true example for the intellectually challenged people to overcome their limitations. May it spread among us all as a source of inspiration. May all of us become invincible for our own as well as for our beloved country.'' This was stated by Moshiur Rahman, convener of ''Aporajeyo Aamra'' (we are invincible) and director of Special Olympics Bangladesh, in a press conference held Tuesday at Dhaka Reporters Unity. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Special Olympics a two-month long campaign titled ''Aporajeyo Aamra'' got underway. The ultimate goal of the campaign is to spread across the country the success stories of the intellectually challenged people as a source of inspiration. In his speech Moshiur said, ''In the next two months we shall continue to arrange across the country various campaigns, activities and events in this regard. Through our campaigns and activities on social media we shall try to carry the success stories of these indomitable, invincible men and women to every doorstep. The campaign will carry out across the country various programmes like cycle and torch rallies and marathons and will end with a three-day long carnival. To keep the development of these ''invincible men and women'' unhindered there will be a call to raise and collect funds.''

Two invincible people, and proud conquerors of Mount Everest, Nishat Majumder and MA Muhit graced the press conference with their presence and wished every success of the campaign. Saidul Hoque Khondaker, CEO of SOB's campaign partner Agency Level, elaborated their preparation to make the campaign a success. The intellectually challenged people, who participated in the Special Olympic events both home and abroad and achieved success, were also present in Tuesday's press conference. The speakers spoke in unison that the goal of the campaign is to highlight the struggle of these invincible men and women and their families. "We want everyone to know our initiatives and stand by these struggling men and women. We also want to make everybody know the fact that joining hands with us is very much needed to further advance our initiatives.''
