Bangladesh is placed alongside Philippines, Indonesia, Germany, Belarus, Belgium, Australia, Bulgaria, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan in Pool A in Division 2 of the FIDE Online World Chess Olympiad starting this Friday.

Grandmasters Niaz Murshed, Reefat Bin Sattar, Ziaur Rahman and WIM Rani Hamid are among Bangladesh’s 14 team members. Other members are IM Abu Sufian Shakil, WIM Sharmin Sultana Shirin, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, WCM Ahmed Walijah, FM Md Taibur Rahman, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva, WCM Samiha Sharmin Shimmi, CM Tahsin Tajwar Zia and WFM Noshin Anjum, and captain Dr. Shoeb Reaz Alam.
Other GM Enamul Hossain Razib on Sunday night concluded 48th Annual World Open Chess Tournament where he was tied for the 19th place before 22nd in tie-breaking system collecting 5.5 points from 9 rounds.
