GTV, Maasranga to telecast BPL from 2017-19

Update : 09 Nov 2016, 08:23 PM
Impress Matra Consortium has acquired the broadcasting rights of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 for the next three editions, said officials during a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday. Local satellite channels Gazi TV and Maasranga TV have been selected as the telecast partners while Radio Bhoomi and Radio Shadhin will be the radio partners from 2017-19. Virgo Limited, a concern of Channel 9, won the broadcasting rights for six years before the first season of the BPL. However, its inability to keep the financial commitment forced the BPL governing council to go for a new deal. According to the BPL GC chairman Afzalur Rahman Sinha, they have sorted out all disputes with Channel 9, who is currently broadcasting the BPL 4. “We are delighted to announce Impress as the broadcaster of the BPL for the next three editions. We had a financial dispute with Channel 9 but it was all sorted out,” Sinha told the media.
