Soumya was at the peak of the bowlers’ list, taking three wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam both bagged two wickets each. The Tigers eventually got the 84-run target in eight overs, under the Duckworth-Lewis method, after play was affected by rain at the North Sydney Oval.
In reply, The Tigers also started their innings with blistering stroke-making from openers Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes and No 3 Sabbir Rahman. Wickets fell quickly too. BCB XI were 37/3 in the 4th over. From there on, Bangladesh's most-experienced batting duo, Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and limited-over vice-captain Mahmudullah Riyad, took charge as they saw past the Sixers’ target, displaying controlled power hitting. They made 15 and 28 respectively. Soumya scored 20.
