Dickwella: Like keeping and batting in middle order

Update : 08 Mar 2017, 11:29 PM
On Galle wicketIt’s a really slow, flat track. It’s a good batting track. And it’s becoming really slow at the moment. [Wednesday] it was getting slow. I think it will start to properly turn in the evening. In the morning [Wednesday], the ball swung and seamed a bit, and in the afternoon it became a batting track.Lankan spinners' prospectsYeah definitely, we have to take wickets and keep them (to) a low score. Our spinners are bowling really well and we’ve got three spinners. That should help us [Thursday].Missed chancesThose came at a crucial time. Both the batsmen got half-centuries. That’s part of the game. We get chances and score runs, and sometimes we miss catches and they score runs.Tamim Iqbal's dismissalIt brushed his pad and I caught it. He must have thought the ball went past me. He went out of the crease. I removed the bails. We were appealing for (both) the catch and lbw.Attacking approachThat’s my normal game, and I don’t want to change the way I play. It was a flat track as well. I didn’t think too much, and my normal game helped me to score runs.Same approach across all formatsNo, it’s different because in T20s and one dayers, I open the batting, and it's a different ball game with the Powerplays and all. In Test cricket, it’s a totally different game.Difference between conditions on Test debut and hereActually that was two and a half years ago. It was my debut and I hadn’t played any international game. I had some pressure and scored 72, but that was not fluent I think. [Wednesday] I was more confident and comfortable.Keeping wickets, besides battingI like keeping wickets and batting in the middle order. I want to be a better wicket-keeper so I like this role.IconObviously Kumar Sangakkara.NicknameMy name is a unique name, so if people make fun of that, I’m happy.
