The Afghanistan Cricket Board is all geared up to host their IPL-style T20 league called Shpageeza Cricket League. The auction for the league was conducted comprising international cricketers from Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, reports crictracker.com. “We have already received great response from the cricketers. This is the first time that so many international cricketers will be playing in this franchise-based league,” ACB CEO Shafiq Stanikzai said from Kabul. The tournament will witness six franchises which are all owned by Afghani industrialists. The cricketing board has already obtained the go-ahead from the West Indies, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Canada and the UAE for the league.Although the Afghan team’s home ground is in Greater Noida, the league will be held in Afghanistan with the aim of popularising the game in the country and also to make people realise that it is entirely harmless for the international sides to compete in the country.
