BCB CEO: Australia delegation to arrive in Dhaka Tuesday
An Australian delegate team will arrive in Bangladesh on Tuesday, ahead of the Aussies' tour of Bangladesh, informed BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury. Australian players have been involved with their board in a pay row for months now and only recently, Australia A side boycotted their tour of South Africa as the dispute between Cricket Australia and the Australia Cricketers’ Association did not resolve. Australia are supposed to play two Test matches against the Tigers this August. Bangladesh are currently practising hard in the fitness and conditioning camp, ahead of their much-awaited home series against Australia.

As the series nears, BCB high-up Nizamuddin yet again said CA has not informed anything regarding the cancellation of their Bangladesh Tests and that a delegation team will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday to inspect the facilities. “There is no talks from CA regarding the abandonment of the tour. But we will discuss today. A delegate team will visit Bangladesh on Tuesday. The delegate team have visited Dhaka on previous occasions. They were here during the England series (last year) and observed our security system. The team which visited Bangladesh will observe the logistics and other facilities here. If they have any suggestions then they share them with us,” Nizamuddin told the media in Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
“BCB is preparing to host Australia. We are working according to that. CA is working on that too. What they are doing to resolve their dispute is their internal matter. We don’t want to make any comment on that,” he said.
According to some media reports, Australia might send a weakened team to Bangladesh. When asked regarding the speculation, the BCB CEO confidently said Bangladesh are fully focused on Australia's visit and that they are preparing accordingly for the tour, rather than concentrating on which side the Aussies might send. “Playing cricket is important for us. Australia’s participation is important. We don’t see any chance of the series losing glamour if anything does happen,” concluded Nizamuddin.
