Rumana, Khadiza set to participate in Women’s Big Bash T20
Bangladesh captain Rumana Ahmed and her team-mate, Khadiza Tul Kobra will participate in the Australian domestic T20 league, Big Bash. Spin all-rounder Rumana was called by the Brisbane Heats, whilst Kobra will perform for Melbourne Stars. As a part of the process of the contract, Big Bash Franchisees have sent their jersey for the players. The third edition of the Big Bash for the women’s cricket will get underway from December 9 and end on February 4. Both Bangladesh cricketers will join their respective franchisee teams in the middle of the showpiece event. Last year, Rumana expressed her desire to play in the BBL, “I dreamt of playing in this league. This is a big tournament for women cricketers. There are a lot of good cricketers there.” With the recent improvement of the women’s team, Rumana hoped to represent Bangladesh in the tournament. Rumana will fly for Australia on January 10, while her compatriot Khadiza will take off on January 16.
