Dhaka, Rangpur face off in BPL grand finale
Defending champion Dhaka Dynamites will face Rangpur Riders in the grand finale of BPL 2017 at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Tuesday. Rangpur eliminated Comilla Victorians Monday, defeating them by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 to qualify for the final. The match starts at 6pm local time and GTV and Maasranga TV will telecast it live. Dhaka practised at Mirpur Academy Ground Monday. Dhaka coach Khaled Mahmud informed that his team are confident of winning the title as they have many match-winners in their side. “Whenever Dhaka build a team, it is considered as the best on pen and paper. We are best on the field. As we qualified for the final first, we can say we are the best team. We have built this team to retain the championship. We have enough firepower to retain the title,” said Mahmud to the media during training. “We have quite a few T20 match-winners in our side like Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Evin Lewis, Shahid Afridi and Shakib al Hasan. Everyone has proved their worth. Shakib played brilliantly when the others failed. He was superb both with bat and ball against Rangpur. I believe we are capable of winning the final and we deserve it,” he added.
