Right-arm pacer Al Amin Hossain’s bowling action was cleared by the BCB Thursday. The paceman will be able to participate in the upcoming domestic leagues, informed BCB director and bowling action review committee chairman Jalal Younus.
Al Amin, who last played for Bangladesh in the 2016 World T20, was reported for suspect bowling action in the fifth edition of the BPL T20, held in November-December last year. The Comilla Victorians pace bowler picked up 11 wickets in 14 innings at an economy rate of 8.73.
“Al Amin worked with coach [Mohammad] Salahuddin and another coach in BKSP for the last 28 days and then appeared for the test under our guidance last Thursday. We analysed his videos from the test. His bowling was way below the tolerance level of 15 degrees. He has improved his action a lot,” said Jalal to the media Thursday.
Jalal informed that Al Amin will be free to play in the Dhaka Premier League, set to start on February 5.
Al Amin however, has been warned of a year-long suspension if he is reported twice in the next two years.
“He (Al Amin) is well informed of this and he has assured us that there will not be any problem with his bowling action. He has admitted to us of having issues with his action in a couple of deliveries. He has recovered well from those. I believe he will not fall in trouble in future,” said Jalal.
Al-Amin was first reported in 2014 during Bangladesh’s tour of the West Indies. He later appeared for a bowling action test at an ICC-accredited laboratory in Chennai and got the clearance to continue bowling.
