Tushar, Razzak shine bright in BCL

The two matches in round two of the sixth Bangladesh Cricket League ended in a draw and milestones achieved by Prime Bank South Zone veterans Abdur Razzak and Tushar Imran turned out to be the highlights. Tushar in the round scored 72 runs (56 and 16) to emerge as the first Bangladeshi to score 10,000 first-class runs while left-arm spinner Razzak picked up four wickets to surpass the 500 first-class wicket mark, that too as the first Bangladeshi. The final day of the game at BKSP resumed with Walton Central Zone batting on 313 for the loss of two wickets in the first innings. Propelled by Mehrab Hossain Jr’s 76 and Tanbir Hayder’s 77, the side posted 505 before losing all of their wickets. Razzak and Mosaddek Hossain bagged four and three wickets each for South Zone. South Zone later batted 26 overs in their second innings in a game that was heading towards a draw. They posted 120 losing three wickets before the match officials removed the bails to signal the end of the game. Shahriar Nafees, batting at No 3, scored an unbeaten 50.

Meanwhile in the other match, BCB North Zone started the day on 273/8 and ended their second innings on 284 to set a 249-run target for Islami Bank East Zone at Sylhet International Stadium. Farhad Hossain struck 85 while pacers Khaled Ahmed and Abu Jayed notched five and three wickets apiece for East Zone. East Zone chasing the target scored 202 for the loss of six wickets in 57.4 overs as captain Mominul Haque added 107 to the total. Mominul in his 147-ball innings struck eight boundaries and two over boundaries.
